A good gallop: Wadi Rum, Jordan - Jordan Tracks

Like many young girls, Dr. Elizabeth Dooher developed a love for "all things horse" at a young age.  In sharing her life with many beloved horses (and other 4-legged friends), she was continually inspired by the dedication of the veterinarians who cared for them.  Following her passion for working with equine athletes, Dr. Dooher pursued a degree in Veterinary Medicine.  With role models from her childhood in mind, it is her aim to provide exceptional veterinary care for the animals entrusted to her, and peace of mind for the people who love them.

Growing up in Vail, CO, Dr. Dooher worked her way through the ratings as a member of the United States Pony Club and competed on the hunter and jumper circuit. After completing her undergraduate degree in Equine Science at Colorado State University, she spent several years back in the Vail Valley teaching skiing and horseback riding, training horses, traveling, and managing the equine side of a local horse ranch.

In 2006, Dr. Dooher ventured back to CSU where she earned an MS in Biomedical Science in 2008. In May of 2012 she graduated cum laude with a DVM.  Her professional interests are in Integrative Therapies - chiropractic, acupuncture, rehabilitation, and massage therapy.  She has completed extensive post-graduate training in all of the above modalities.

Dr. Dooher feels so privileged to reside in the mountains and make her passion her work. When not caring for animals in Colorado, she may be found volunteering her veterinary skills to help working horses and donkeys in the Middle East. Or, she may be galloping across deserts and mountains in far off continents, scuba diving, skiing, horseback riding, or backpacking with her Australian Shepherd, Dodger.
